Silvia has developed her career based on her passion for multicultural mediation and connecting people. She is a high-level cultural mediator with experience ranging from higher education to government agencies and multilateral organizations. She has lectured in Korean Interpretation at the Graduate Institute of Interpretation & Translation at the Shanghai International Studies University for 4 years, and has previously served in the South Korean Foreign Ministry for 3 years. She also has professional experience in multilateral organizations such as the Colombian-Chinese Chamber of Investment & Commerce, the Korean Cultural Center in Shanghai, the Peaceful Unification Advisory Council of South Korea, and Quectel Wireless Solutions. She has also consulted organizations such as the Korean History & Education Organization and Asian Americans Together.
Silvia has an undergraduate degree in Anthropology and International Studies from Elon University (USA) and a graduate degree in Interpreting & Translating from the Shanghai International Studies University (China), with a certificate in International Business from the CESA business school (Colombia). Her resourcefulness shows in her ability to identify niche needs and connect different groups of people across public and private industries to provide practical result-driven solutions
based on existing platforms and services. During the Shanghai lockdown 2022, she orchestrated a mutual aid project to facilitate food procurement for 300 Korean students in 18 universities by mobilizing Korean expat volunteers in her network.
