The Seraph team is headed by inspiring industry veteran and our Director (Curriculum Development) Kong-Lam Seet Mui. She is supported by our Director (Research) Karen JE Lam and Director (Training) JM Grace Lam-Thomas.
Lam-Kong Seet Mui has extensive years of experience in Singapore Airlines (August 1970 to February 2011) holding various managerial positions in Human Resources and Learning and Development including a short posting stint to SATS. Her last appointment in SIA was Senior Manager Training with the Singapore Airlines School of Cabin Crew – responsible for the learning and development of over 6,000 cabin crew of all levels; and the creation of an effective learning culture.
As a manifestation of her passion for learning and development, Seet Mui spearheaded the development of the WSQ-ATO in SIA; served in WDA’s Training and Adult Education Manpower Skills and Training Council and the Adult Educators’ Network Committee. In November 2010, Seet Mui was presented the WSQ Leading Adopter-Individual accolade in recognition of her contributions.
JE Karen Lam brings wide-ranging experience in dealing with leaders from multinational companies and government agencies. With 3 years as an executive search consultant, and almost 9 years in the Singapore Civil Service, Karen has interacted with senior management leaders at the local and Asia Pacific levels, as well as with senior government officials and political leaders.
Her special interests lie in career coaching and leadership development, into which she integrates both her hands-on knowledge of diverse industries and psychotherapy theories like Transactional Analysis.
JM Grace Lam is known for her creative approach to training and her dynamic presentation style. She inspires and brings the best out of the people she works with. As a training facilitator, Grace is widely sought after and trusted by those in the public and private sector in Singapore and in the region. Some of her clients include the World Bank, the Mekong Private Sector Development Facility (MPDF), the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, RAMBOLL, the Singapore Civil Service, TDK (Asia), Sony (Asia), Sennheiser (Asia), the Institute of Mental Health (Singapore), and the National Council of Social Service (NCSS).
Grace is accredited to train using the DiSC Dimensions of Behaviour as a certified DiSC Behavioural Consultant. She is also certified as a trainer with 6 Seconds Emotional Intelligence and is accredited to use the MBTI personality profile and Facet5. Grace holds an Advanced Certificate for Training and Assessment (ACTA) from the Singapore Institute of Management and a Transactional Analysis 101 certification. She has a Masters degree in Organisational Leadership from Monash University and was invited to become a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society for her academic achievement.
Sophie Tay brings with her a strong background in the banking industry, where she trained and built highly motivated trading and sales teams focussed on achieving revenue goals and expanding the client base. A former Chief Dealer and later Head of the Money Market in the National Australia Bank, Sophie has firsthand experience of what it takes to motivate and be successful in relationship management and leadership in a stressful and results-oriented environment. Sophie is also a certified and practicing counsellor.
Able Cheong specialises in conceptualizing and designing various programmes activities to help organisations realign their values, boost staff morale through building a positive organizational climate and enhancing organisations’ competencies and capabilities. An inspiring speaker, Able’s training and delivery style has been focused on learning and achievement in alignment with organization’s results.
Able has been involved in the development and delivery of leadership programs using the Hay Assessments (Emotional Intelligence, Leadership Styles, Organization Climate, Influencing Strategies), Job Analysis, Job Evaluation and Performance Management. Able also works on designing, developing and delivering competency based programmes under the Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) framework stipulated by Workforce Development Agency (WDA).
Regina Lim has a background in the service industry. Regina spent the initial part of her career in the tours and travel industry, where her roles involved planning travel itineraries for corporate and school tours, liaising with customers, airlines, hotels and overseas travel operators. She subsequently worked in an SME as a Sales Manager, where she was responsible for leading a sales team and ensuring that the team delivered their sales targets.
Regina graduated from the University of Newcastle, Australia with a Bachelor of Commerce. A Chartered Professional Accountant (Australia), Regina holds an Advanced Certificate for Training and Assessment (ACTA) and is a certified DiSC behavioural consultant. Regina has taken on the role of co-facilitator for clients in the government and private sectors.
Darryl Chen has a passion for people. He has a highly engaging facilitation style, and seeks to draw out lessons from each participant. Darryl specializes in leadership courses such as the WSQ Leadership and People Management.
Professionally, Darryl brings experiences from business management and strategic planning roles in industries spanning electronics and logistics. This experience has stood him good stead in his facilitation work with clients spanning the hospitality and industrial sectors.
Michael John Reyes heads Seraph’s country operations in Manila, Philippines. Michael’s gift with and love for people has enabled him to foster key relationships with senior government officials and business leaders in the Philippines whom he advises on a professional and personal level. Michael’s expertise is consulting with leaders at the senior leadership level. He also delivers motivational talks regularly to audiences of thousands.
Michael graduated magna cum laude from John Brown University with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Psychology.
Huyen Nguyen specialises in Human Resource Development in the public sector in Vietnam. Her familiarity with HR in the public sector in Vietnam enables her to consult with them on their leadership development and training needs very effectively.
With her vast experience in the public sector, Huyen is able to diagnose leadership learning needs and design training route maps for middle to senior officials. Huyen has a BA in English and a Masters in Education Administration. She also plays a key role in business development in Vietnam and coordinates the training programmes in Hanoi.
Phuong Vu’s expertise lies in bringing private sector leadership principles and making them relevant for governments and NGOs in developing countries. Her vast working experience across various industries enables her to consult with officials from both the private and public sectors very effectively. She particularly enjoys facilitating experiential and activity-based leadership programmes.
Phuong Vu is effectively bilingual in Vietnamese and English and excels in facilitating leadership programmes in both languages.Phuong Vu has a Masters from the Vietnam National University in Hanoi specialising in English.
